Overview
We’re looking for an experienced Principal or Senior Systems Engineer to play a key role in delivering complex engineering solutions across a range of high-impact projects. You'll take technical ownership of key systems engineering activities, lead multidisciplinary teams, and drive the delivery of innovative solutions that meet our clients’ mission-critical needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the definition, development, and delivery of complex system solutions across the full engineering life cycle.
- Own complete work packages, ensuring successful delivery within agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Develop system architectures, define technical requirements, and lead trade-off and impact analysis to guide decision-making.
- Produce and review core systems engineering documentation, including requirement specifications, interface definitions, and verification strategies.
- Plan and execute design reviews, working collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Support the integration, verification, and validation of system components, ensuring they meet performance and compliance requirements.
- Contribute to bids and proposals by estimating effort, preparing technical responses, and developing system concepts.
- Act as a technical mentor, supporting the growth of junior engineers and promoting best practices in systems engineering.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven track record in systems engineering, ideally within defence, aerospace, transport, or related sectors.
- Strong background in systems engineering methodologies such as the V-model, MBSE, or Agile systems development.
- Proficient in requirements management and systems architecture development.
- Experience working across multidisciplinary teams and engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent documentation and presentation skills.
- Familiar with tools such as IBM DOORS, Enterprise Architect, and modelling languages like SysML or UML.
Desirable Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
- INCOSE ASEP/CSEP certification or equivalent systems engineering accreditation.
- Experience with system integration, verification, and validation within a regulated environment
- Exposure to safety-critical or secure systems is a plus.
