Technology Director

I am working with a fast-growing organisation in Norwich that is looking to appoint a Technology Director to lead the next stage of its technology evolution.

This is a broad senior leadership role covering software development, infrastructure, data and AI. You will be responsible for shaping the technology strategy, improving how systems and data work together, and ensuring the business has the platforms, capability and structure it needs to continue scaling successfully.

A key part of the role will be identifying where technology can have the biggest commercial impact. That could mean introducing automation, developing new AI capability, improving internal platforms, strengthening infrastructure or helping teams make better use of data. You will also lead the development function and take ownership of the wider technology roadmap, ensuring investment is focused on the areas that will create the most value.

What you need to succeed:

  • Significant experience leading a technology function or major technology transformation
  • Strong understanding of software development and modern cloud environments
  • Experience leading technical and development teams
  • Good knowledge of infrastructure, architecture, integrations and cybersecurity
  • Strong understanding of data platforms and how data should move between business systems
  • Practical knowledge of AI, automation and emerging technologies
  • Experience delivering complex technology projects from concept through to implementation
  • Strong commercial judgement and the ability to prioritise investment
  • The ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to senior non-technical stakeholders
  • A pragmatic approach, with the ability to balance innovation with delivery and commercial value

In return they are offering:

  • A salary of circa £70,000-£80,000 + performance-related bonus
  • One day per week work from home
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays
  • Excellent working environment wiht opportunity to grow wiht the business

This is an opportunity to take genuine ownership of a technology function and help shape what it becomes over the next few years.
