Raytheon UK is searching for a Release Practitioner to join our OMNIA® Training team.

\n

\n

As Release Practitioner, you will be critical to the successful delivery of the programme, collaborating within matrix organisation across multi-disciplinary teams. The Release Practitioner role requires a customer first mindset, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability work in a multidisciplinary engineering team in a complex and evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities:

\n

\n

    \n
  • \nPlan, coordinate, and manage releases across Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) training systems deployed within cloud-hosted, containerised environments.\n
  • \n

  • \nManage release pipelines and deployment workflows supporting continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes.\n
  • \n

  • \nCoordinate releases across engineering, platform, and operations teams to ensure reliable deployment of containerised services and applications.\n
  • \n

  • \nEnsure all releases comply with ITIL release and deployment management governance, including change approval and release documentation.\n
  • \n

  • \nOversee deployment activities to cloud platforms and container orchestration environments (e.g. Kubernetes/OpenShift).\n
  • \n

  • \nMaintain version control and release traceability for software, infrastructure configurations, and training system components.\n
  • \n

  • \nWork with configuration and change management teams to ensure releases align with approved changes and configuration baselines.\n
  • \n

  • \nSupport automated build, test, and deployment pipelines to ensure repeatable and reliable releases.\n
  • \n

  • \nCoordinate release readiness activities including integration testing, system validation, and operational acceptance.\n
  • \n

  • \nSupport in Configuration Management, working closely with the Configuration Practitioner.\n
  • \n

  • \nConduct post-release reviews and implement improvements to release automation and deployment processes.\n

Required Skills and Experience:

\n

    \n
  • \nProven experience managing problem management activities within complex IT or technical service environments.\n
  • \n

  • \nExperience managing software releases within CI/CD driven environments.\n
  • \n

  • \nStrong understanding of ITIL release and deployment management processes.\n
  • \n

  • \nExperience supporting containerised application deployments using orchestration platforms (e.g. Kubernetes or OpenShift).\n
  • \n

  • \nWorking knowledge of CI/CD pipeline tools (e.g. GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Helm).\n
  • \n

  • \nExperience managing releases into cloud or hybrid environments (e.g. Azure, AWS).\n
  • \n

  • \nUnderstanding of container image management, versioning, and deployment strategies.\n
  • \n

  • \nExperience coordinating releases across engineering, DevOps, and platform teams.\n
  • \n

  • \nStrong organisational skills managing multiple releases across complex technical environments.\n
  • \n

  • \nITIL certification (Foundation or higher).\n

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • \nExperience working within defence, government, or regulated service environments.\n
  • \n

  • \nExperience supporting CI/CD pipelines delivering containerised microservices into Kubernetes or Red Hat OpenShift environments.\n
  • \n

  • \nExperience supporting infrastructure-as-code or platform automation tools.\n
  • \n

  • \nExperience supporting releases within modelling and simulation environments, particularly LVC training systems.\n
