Manufacturing Engineer

Our manufacturing Client on the outskirts of Dartford is seeking an experienced Manufacturing and Maintenance Engineer – the role is to assist in day-to-day plant operations, programming machines, validating programs and ensuring production is fully supported. The successful candidate will continually improve manufacturing efficiencies by utilizing continuous improvement techniques whilst maintaining a high level of quality.

Job role: Permanent, full time

Salary: Competitive – discussed on first phone call

Location: Near Dartford, Kent

Hours: 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday – 37.5 hours per week

Holiday: 25 days + 8 BH

The key skills and qualities of a Manufacturing and Maintenance Engineer are:

• Understanding DFM processes.
• Understanding lean manufacturing techniques.
• Understanding of computerised manufacturing systems (ERP, MRP)
• Keep equipment operational – first line maintenance and repairs
• Create programs for automatic programmable equipment
• Diagnose machine faults and production equipment failures, identifying root causes
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
• Able to communicate, both within the working group and the organisation.
• Understanding project management and prioritize multiple projects
• Ideally degree educated – electro mechanical
• Able to write programs for a variety of machines
• Hands on maintenance and problem-solving experience
• Computer literate
• Experience within manufacturing essential (desirable – electronic assembly)
