IT Manager

Role: IT Manager Location: Loughborough

Working Arrangement: 2/3 days a week in the office (a condensed week will be considered)

Salary: Up to £ 52- 62.5k

Lead technology. Influence strategy. Make a real difference.

Are you an experienced IT Manager who enjoys building strong relationships, driving service excellence, and using technology to improve the way an organisation works? If you're looking for a role where you can influence business decisions rather than spend your days fixing technical issues, we'd love to hear from you.

As our IT Manager, you'll be the bridge between the organisation and our managed service providers, ensuring technology delivers real value to the business. You'll work closely with colleagues across the organisation to understand their challenges, identify opportunities for improvement, and make sure our external IT partners provide an outstanding service.

This is a varied and influential role where you'll oversee supplier performance, lead technology projects, support cybersecurity and governance, and mentor an internal IT Support team member. You'll have the opportunity to shape IT strategy, improve processes, and help deliver technology that enables the organisation to achieve its goals.

What you'll be doing

You'll take ownership of our relationships with managed service providers and technology suppliers, ensuring service levels, projects, and support meet expectations. Working with stakeholders across the business, you'll identify opportunities where technology can improve efficiency and support future growth.

You'll also oversee IT governance, budgeting, cybersecurity, compliance, and business continuity while providing leadership and mentoring to our internal IT support colleague. Rather than delivering day-to-day technical support, you'll focus on ensuring the right technology, people, and partners are in place to keep the organisation moving forward.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who combines strong commercial awareness with excellent relationship-building skills. You'll be confident challenging suppliers when needed, communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and making informed technology decisions that support the wider business.

You'll bring experience of managing outsourced IT services or managed service providers, along with a good understanding of Microsoft 365, IT service management, cybersecurity, and IT governance. Previous leadership or people management experience is essential, and you'll be comfortable mentoring and supporting others to succeed.

Experience within education, healthcare, charities, housing, or another regulated environment would be advantageous, as would knowledge of Cyber Essentials, ISO 27001, NIST, ITIL, or project management methodologies.

An enhanced DBS check will be required for this position.

If you're looking for an opportunity where you can influence technology strategy, work with senior stakeholders, and make a genuine impact across an organisation, we'd love to receive your application.

We welcome diverse applicants and are dedicated to treating all applicants with dignity and respect, regardless of background.
