This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to join a growing engineering team and play a key role in designing, building and scaling a modern cloud-native platform.

The role offers the opportunity to work across the full technology stack, contributing to architecture decisions, developing scalable services, and helping shape engineering best practices within a collaborative team.

The Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work closely with engineering leadership and product teams to build and evolve a scalable SaaS platform supporting international growth.

You will contribute to backend services, APIs, and frontend components while helping ensure the platform remains reliable, secure and performant as usage grows.

The team embraces modern development tooling and AI-assisted engineering workflows to accelerate development and maintain high quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using TypeScript and modern Node.js frameworks.
  • Contribute to the development of cloud-native infrastructure on AWS, using services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, EventBridge, ECS and Fargate.
  • Develop user-facing features using modern frontend frameworks such as React.
  • Build and maintain integrations with external services including payment platforms such as Stripe and other third-party APIs.
  • Work with event-driven architectures to build reliable and scalable distributed systems.
  • Support international platform capabilities including localisation, multi-region deployments and scalable payment processing.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, ensuring reliable automated testing and deployment processes.
  • Maintain high standards of code quality using tools such as SonarCloud, automated testing and code reviews.
  • Implement infrastructure-as-code practices using AWS CDK to ensure repeatable and maintainable cloud deployments.
  • Monitor system performance and reliability using observability tools such as AWS CloudWatch and distributed tracing solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers and designers to deliver high-quality product features.

About You

  • Strong commercial experience building modern applications using TypeScript and JavaScript frameworks.
  • Experience working with AWS cloud services and cloud-native application architectures.
  • Experience developing RESTful APIs and scalable backend systems.
  • Familiarity with event-driven architecture and distributed systems.
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools such as AWS CDK or Terraform.
  • Experience integrating with third-party APIs and services.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and a collaborative approach to engineering.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working with React or modern frontend frameworks.
  • Experience integrating payment systems such as Stripe.
  • Familiarity with containerisation technologies such as Docker and AWS ECS.
  • Experience building SaaS platforms supporting international users.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or ChatGPT.
