Recruit with Purpose are supporting housing association in London who are well underway with their digital transformation journey. They are looking for someone to come in and take the lead of shaping their digital future and leading their development team.

They're looking for a Software Development Manager who thrives on strategy, mentoring members of their team, collaboration, and turning vision into reality.

As their Software Development Manager, you'll be at the heart of shaping and delivering our digital future. From driving enterprise-level technology solutions to championing innovation and AI, you'll play a key role in transforming how we work and serve communities.

This isn't just about keeping the lights on, it's about setting the pace for digital change, influencing strategy at the highest level, and inspiring a team of talented developers to reach their full potential.

What you'll be doing:

• Lead with vision: Set the technical strategy, manage risk, and represent the development function at executive and sector wide forums.
• Mentor: Build, grow, and develop a high performing team of developers and contractors.
• Deliver innovation: Drive forward new technologies, data strategies, and service models that push boundaries.
• Shape digital services: Oversee integration, governance, and quality delivery across APIs, platforms, and systems.
• Make impact driven decisions: Influence organisation wide direction and ensure technology underpins every success.

What they are looking for:

• Has a degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Brings expertise in enterprise architecture, data governance, and cybersecurity.
• Lives and breathes modern platforms and practices, think AWS/Azure, DevOps, Terraform, Git.
• Background coding in HTML, JavaScript, and SQL when needed, but also thinks big picture.
• Has experience leading teams, managing risk, and delivering under pressure.
• Knows how to build partnerships, negotiate contracts, and navigate complex stakeholders.
