Business Development Manager

As a Business Development Manager, you'll play a key role in driving business growth by developing new customer relationships, managing the full sales cycle and delivering tailored solutions to commercial clients across the South.
The Role
Reporting to the Sales Director, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing long-term customer relationships and securing profitable installation, service and maintenance contracts.
You'll manage opportunities from initial prospecting through to contract mobilisation, carrying out customer meetings, site surveys and commercial presentations while working closely with internal teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
This role offers the opportunity to combine new business development with account management, helping to grow existing customer relationships through cross-selling and upselling additional services.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and secure new business opportunities across your region.
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through to contract mobilisation.
- Build and maintain long-term customer relationships.
- Conduct customer meetings and site surveys.
- Produce quotations, proposals and commercial presentations.
- Negotiate contracts and maximise profitable opportunities.
- Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and activity forecasts.
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell and upsell additional services.
About You
We're looking for a motivated and commercially driven sales professional who enjoys building relationships and winning new business.
You will have:
- Proven experience in Business Development, Sales or Account Management.
- Experience managing the full sales cycle.
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and relationship-building ability.
- Experience selling technical products or services.
- A proactive, organised and target-driven approach.
- Fire & Security industry experience is highly desirable, although candidates from similar technical or engineering sectors are also encouraged to apply.
Package & Benefits
- £35,000 - £45,000 basic salary.
- Uncapped OTE of up to £65,000.
