Having recently launched our MVP, we are currently working with new clients to elicit feedback and improve the usability to support scalable growth.

The Full Stack Developer Role:

You’ll be working across our Laravel and React stack, with most of your time spent on the backend, building services, designing database schemas, writing jobs and queues, and working with APIs. Frontend work comes up, and you should be comfortable enough with React and TypeScript to contribute, but backend is the focus.

A growing part of this role involves building and expanding our AI capabilities, from integrating with OpenAI’s APIs to exploring in-house model training and fine-tuning.

You’ll help shape how we use AI to improve collection rates, automate communications, and build predictive analytics.

Your responsibilities:

• Building and owning backend features in Laravel (services, jobs, controllers, Eloquent models)

• Developing AI-powered functionality, including automated responses, predictive analytics, and risk scoring

• Integrating with OpenAI APIs and exploring in-house model training and fine-tuning

• Creating data pipelines to support ML workflows, from preparation to deployment and monitoring

• Writing and maintaining APIs for our React/TypeScript frontend

• Contributing to frontend development in React when needed

• Writing unit and feature tests (PHPUnit, occasional Dusk)

• Managing MySQL databases, migrations, and query optimisation

• Building and maintaining background processing with Horizon and Redis

• Participating in code reviews and maintaining quality standards (PSR-12, PHPStan, Pint)

• Working with Docker (Laravel Sail) and contributing to CI/CD deployments

• Collaborating via GitHub PRs and Monday. com

About you:

• 3+ years’ professional development experience with strong backend expertise

• Solid Laravel experience (service container, Eloquent, queues)

• Strong MySQL knowledge and query optimisation skills

• Genuine interest in AI/ML, with experience integrating AI APIs (OpenAI or similar a plus)

• Working knowledge of React and TypeScript

• Experience writing automated tests

• Confident with Git workflows and pull requests

• Comfortable with (or willing to learn) Docker-based environments

• Clear written communication skills

Nice to have:

• Experience with model training, fine-tuning, or ML frameworks (Python, PyTorch, scikit-learn)

• Building and deploying ML data pipelines

• AWS experience (ECS, S3, RDS, Elastic Beanstalk)

• Redis and queue-based architectures

• Third-party API integrations (Stripe, Twilio, SendGrid)

• CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions)

• SaaS or multi-tenant platform experience

• Exposure to fintech, debt collection, or regulated industries

How we work:

• User stories are managed on Monday. com

• Code quality is enforced through automated testing, PHPStan static analysis, and Laravel Pint formatting

• CI/CD pipeline with automated deployments

• CloudWatch for monitoring

What we offer:

• 25 days holiday + your birthday off (if it falls during the working week)

• Flexible working — office is in Epsom, Surrey, but home working is entirely your call

• Personal growth budget — memberships to Audible, Spotify, or anything else that helps you grow personally

• 40 hours per week — we respect your time

• Autonomy and trust — you’ll be self-motivated and free-speaking, and we’ll give you the space to do your best work

This is a rare opportunity to join a fast-growing, award-winning FinTech at a pivotal stage - post-MVP, scaling with enterprise clients, and building the foundations for global growth.
