Breakfix Field Service Engineer
Overview
We are seeking experienced Field Service Engineers to provide on-site break/fix support for HP and Lenovo laptops and desktops across multiple regional locations. This is a hands-on, field-based role requiring strong technical ability, self-sufficiency, and professionalism when representing the client on-site.
Scope of Work
* Carry out field-based repair and maintenance of HP and Lenovo laptops and desktops.
* Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware faults, performing component-level replacements where required.
* Strip down, repair, and rebuild laptops and desktops following vendor procedures.
* Use mobile app to receive and update daily tickets.
* Collect required parts from the designated parts pick-up location each morning.
* Attend client sites to complete assigned repairs, return old parts, and collect new ones the following day.
* Utilise provided USB tools for BIOS and branding configuration.
* Work independently with remote support available from the central help line.
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in field-based or deskside support roles at Level 2 or above.
* Hands-on experience with HP and/or Lenovo hardware (laptop and desktop repair).
* Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and repair skills.
* Familiar with part replacement, imaging, and BIOS configuration.
* Good customer service and communication skills.
* Full UK driving licence and own vehicle (essential).
* Own standard toolkit (specialist BIOS tools supplied).
