DevOps Engineer
Full time Hybrid role - up to 3 days per week - (2 days in Slough and 1 day in Piccadilly)
£600-£650 per day inside IR35, contract up until the end of 2026 with further extensions extremely likely.
I am looking for a DevOps Engineer to join my key client's cloud infrastructure team reporting to the Azure Cloud Architect. The role splits time between BAU support and project work, contributing directly to the design of our Azure cloud infrastructure alongside delivery of day-to-day operational reliability. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys both building new capability and keeping existing systems running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design and evolution of Azure cloud infrastructure, applying enterprise-grade security principles from the outset
- Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and YAML pipelines within Azure DevOps
- Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot containerised workloads
- Balance project delivery with ongoing support, troubleshooting, and operational improvements
- Work closely with business project teams and external technical partners across a multinational, multicultural environment
Key Technical Capabilities & Experience
- Extensive experience with Azure Cloud Infrastructure (networking, compute, storage, platform services)
- Extensive experience with Terraform and YAML pipeline development within Azure DevOps
- Extensive experience with Kubernetes (AKS); Red Hat OpenShift knowledge desirable
- Solid grasp of applying security controls (identity, access, encryption) during infrastructure design, not just after
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a small, close-knit team - adaptable to shifting priorities between support and project work
Personal Attributes
- Excellent communicator, confident engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders internationally
- Adaptable and collaborative, quick to integrate into an existing team's ways of working
