Analytics Engineer
Analytics Engineer required by a global, high-growth multichannel retailer to join a small, high-impact data team
The Analytics Engineer will:
- Sit at the heart of the data team, bridging engineering rigour with real commercial thinking
- Own data modelling and transformation in dbt, ensuring clean, well-documented, reusable models that power dashboards and reporting across the business
- Manage data ingestion from third-party sources via connector platforms and custom Python scripts
- Optimise our GCP/BigQuery platform for cost, performance and reliability
- Build dashboards and reports end-to-end, taking full ownership of your own use cases
- Champion data quality, testing and governance frameworks across the team
- Work directly with stakeholders across retail, finance, merchandising, ops, growth and e-commerce - translating business questions into well-structured data products
We’re looking for someone who combines solid technical skills with the ability to communicate confidently with non-technical people, scope briefs independently and think from a business perspective first. You'll be the only Analytics Engineer in the team, so autonomy and commercial curiosity matter as much as your SQL.
What we're looking for:
- Experience as an Analytics Engineer, Data Engineer or similar
- Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with dbt
- GCP and BigQuery experience
- Familiarity with BI tools (
- Experience managing data ingestion pipelines
- Excellent stakeholder communication skills — comfortable with technical and non-technical audiences alike
- Retail, DTC or ecommerce background strongly preferred
