DevOps Engineer

Location: Bristol (Hybrid) Once a month travel

Duration: 6-Months Initially

IR35 Status: Inside IR35 - £550 per day

About the Role:

A leading organisation is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to support, enhance, and streamline its modern cloud and development platforms. This is a fantastic opportunity to drive automation, improve infrastructure delivery, and contribute to the success of cutting-edge cloud and application services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Bicep, Terraform , and ARM templates across Azure environments.
  • Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines to enable automated build, test, and deployment processes.
  • Deploy, configure, and support Azure Networking components , including Virtual Networks (VNETs) , Virtual WAN (VWAN) , VPN Gateways , Azure Firewall , and Network Security Groups (NSGs) .
  • Collaborate closely with Cloud, Development, and Security teams to deliver robust, scalable, and secure DevOps and cloud solutions.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and security of development and production environments.
  • Automate operational processes to improve system reliability and platform efficiency.
  • Support and troubleshoot complex platform, deployment, and cloud networking issues across both cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Drive DevOps best practices and advocate for modern automation, security, and cloud deployment methodologies.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role within a cloud-focused environment.
  • Strong expertise with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
  • Extensive practical experience with Infrastructure as Code : Bicep , Terraform , and ARM templates .
  • Solid understanding and hands-on experience with Azure Networking , including:
  • VNETs , VWAN , VPN Gateways
  • Azure Firewall , Load Balancers , NSGs , and routing
  • Hybrid connectivity and secure cloud architecture design
  • Proficiency in Azure DevOps , including pipelines, version control, and release processes.
  • Strong scripting abilities with PowerShell , Bash , or equivalent.
  • Demonstrable ability to manage both cloud-native and hybrid infrastructure environments.

Desirable:

  • Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes .
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 , Entra ID , and Windows Server platforms.
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert , Azure Administrator Associate , or Azure Solutions Architect Expert .
