A market-leading organisation is looking to appoint a Technical Lead / Architect to help shape the technical direction of two software development teams working on a shared product suite within a common framework.

This role suits a technical leader with strong expertise in C# and the .NET framework, capable of designing secure, scalable architectures while providing day-to-day technical leadership. You will play a key role in modernising legacy systems, supporting the delivery of new features, and ensuring technical decisions align closely with both user needs and wider business goals. With a strong customer focus, you will contribute to requirement definition, influence product direction, and support solutions used within a growing global market.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain software solutions using the .NET framework
  • Define system architecture and provide technical leadership across multiple teams
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather, analyse, and refine requirements
  • Lead code reviews, set coding standards, and mentor developers
  • Produce clear technical documentation, including specifications and design patterns
  • Develop and own long-term strategies for evolving and modernising a legacy codebase
  • Collaborate with QA, Sales, and other internal teams to support delivery
  • Participate in occasional customer site visits, including potential international travel, to support installations and gather feedback

Skills & Experience (Essential)

  • 5+ years' experience designing and delivering solutions using the .NET framework
  • Strong experience architecting scalable, secure, and high-performance systems
  • Hands-on development experience with C# and modern .NET technologies
  • Ability to translate business and user requirements into robust technical designs
  • Experience leading code reviews and establishing best practice standards
  • Proven experience modernising legacy systems and defining long-term technical roadmaps
  • Experience with at least two of the following:
  • ORM frameworks (NHibernate, Entity Framework, etc.)
  • SQL Server or other relational databases (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL)
  • DevExpress components

Desirable

  • Familiarity with tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, or similar
  • Experience designing or working with APIs and microservices architectures
  • Exposure to Azure services and cloud-based development
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automation practices
