A market-leading organisation is seeking a Technical Lead / Architect to drive the technical direction of two software development teams delivering a shared product suite within a unified framework.

This position is ideal for a technical leader with strong expertise in C# and the .NET framework, able to design secure and scalable architectures while remaining close to delivery. You will play a central role in modernising legacy platforms, supporting the rollout of new functionality, and ensuring technical decisions align with user needs and wider business objectives. With a strong customer focus, you will help shape requirements, influence product direction, and support solutions deployed across a growing global customer base.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and support software solutions using the .NET framework
  • Own architectural decisions and provide technical leadership across multiple teams
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyse, and translate requirements
  • Lead code reviews, promote best practices, and mentor development teams
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including specifications and design standards
  • Define and deliver long-term strategies for modernising and evolving a legacy codebase
  • Work closely with QA, Sales, and other internal teams to support successful delivery
  • Take part in occasional customer site visits, including potential international travel, to support deployments and gather product insight

Skills & Experience (Essential)

  • 5+ years' experience designing and delivering solutions using the .NET framework
  • Strong background in architecting secure, scalable, and high-performing systems
  • Hands-on development experience with C# and modern .NET technologies
  • Ability to translate business and user needs into clear technical solutions
  • Experience conducting code reviews and setting development standards
  • Proven experience modernising legacy systems and defining long-term technical direction
  • Experience with at least two of the following:
  • ORM frameworks (NHibernate, Entity Framework, etc.)
  • SQL Server or other relational databases (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL)
  • DevExpress components

Desirable

  • Experience with tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, or similar
  • Knowledge of API-driven and microservices-based architectures
  • Exposure to Azure services and cloud-based development environments
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automation practices
