Head of IT
Our client is a respected private healthcare provider and publisher of a highly respected medical journal, with healthcare clinics across the UK, renowned for innovation, research-led practice, and exceptional patient care, and growing!
This role will be based at their well-known central London clinic.
They are seeking a highly experienced strategic and versatile, hands-on Head of IT to lead the technology function, shape IT strategy, and oversee the infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital transformation across all sites, streamline systems and advise the business in relation to efficiencies.
You will manage the IT team, collaborate with senior stakeholders, as well as third party suppliers, and ensure systems are robust, secure, and future-ready. Working in a focused private medical clinic environment you will combine robust technical and cybersecurity expertise with deep awareness of clinical workflows, regulatory obligations, and patient data sensitivity, while also being a strategic leader capable of modernising systems across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the organisation’s IT strategy and roadmap.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of IT professionals.
- Oversee IT infrastructure, software, hardware, and Service Desk operations.
- Ensure cybersecurity, GDPR compliance, and business continuity.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to deliver technology solutions that enhance efficiency and patient experience.
- Manage budgets, IT procurement, and vendor/third-party relationships.
- Travelling to UK sites as issues require
Who we are looking for:
We are looking for an experienced IT professional with a minimum of 8+ years in a senior IT role, certified in relevant technologies (Microsoft, ITIL, Cybersecurity, or equivalent), with a strong working knowledge of computer systems and network infrastructure. Experience of working in a similar role in a medical/healthcare environment would be highly desirable along with strong leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills. You will be methodical and an excellent decision maker with strong cyber security awareness.
