Who we’re looking for
As our Engineering Manager, you'll play a crucial role in hiring, managing and inspiring our engineering team based in the UK, while dedicating 80% of your time to hands-on coding. We're looking for someone who is equally passionate about nurturing and developing their team and diving deep into our codebase. You thrive in fast-paced startup environments where innovation reigns, and you relish the freedom to work without red tape. You will report to and work closely together with our US based CTO. What You’ll Be Doing
- E-commerce Platform Development: Lead third-party API integrations and enhance our global storefront across five markets, working with our Product Designer to optimize UI/UX for seamless, scalable solutions.
- Conversion Rate Optimization: Partner with the Commercial team to showcase top inventory, improve website content and checkout flows, and drive initiatives for competitive pricing.
- Product Roadmap Execution: Collaborate with product and engineering leaders to deliver our roadmap on time, focusing on efficiency and scalability.
- Cutting-Edge Technology: Work with our tech stack (AWS, React, Node) and explore new tools like OpenAI to enhance our platform.
- Management Experience: Bring 1-2 years of experience managing engineering teams in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.
Minimum requirements for success
- You have 5+ years of experience as a full stack engineer building eCommerce platform, with 1-2 years of experience managing your own team.
- 4+ years working with Node.
- 4+ years working with React.
- 4+ years working with AWS.
- You have sound knowledge of Next.js and Nest.js frameworks.
- You are flexible working together with our US tech team on US time zone for some hours daily
