Management Accountant - IT

A global investment bank is currently recruiting for a highly analytical, organised and detail‐driven Management Accountant – within IT to join the Finance team on a permanent basis.

They are based in London and offer hybrid working with regular on‐site attendance required each week.

This role plays a critical part in delivering accurate IT cost reporting, budget and forecast analysis, project expenditure tracking, and financial controls across the bank’s Global IT function.

You will work closely with the CIO Office, IT leadership, Finance Business Partners and project managers to produce high‐quality financial reporting, support budgeting cycles, and ensure robust cost‐management processes are embedded across the IT organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce monthly, quarterly and annual IT cost reporting with clear, insightful commentary by cost category and project
  • Support the annual budget and monthly forecasting process, ensuring the timely and accurate completion of IT submissions
  • Prepare and manage IT recharges for the branch including accruals and cross‐entity adjustments
  • Deliver the IT monthly reforecast alongside ad‐hoc IT financial analysis
  • Run allocation sequences to produce the IT P&L for the branch
  • Maintain business structures and reporting hierarchies within Oracle G/L and Tagetik
  • Maintain and document cost allocation keys, project coding structures and allocation methodologies
  • Monitor and prepare pre‐month‐end cost accruals to minimise post‐close corrections
  • Ensure cost recharges align with budget and SLA requirements and liaise with General Accounting accordingly
  • Provide timely, accurate cost summaries and project‐level reporting to senior IT and Finance stakeholders
  • Ensure all financial processes are fully documented and audit‐ready
  • Support the delivery of Finance/IT reporting enhancements, systems upgrades and process‐improvement projects
  • Assist IT teams in developing reporting solutions in Tagetik and Power BI
  • Comply with all legal, regulatory and internal compliance requirements, including Financial Crime and mandatory training
  • Contribute to the mitigation of operational risk by following documented controls and best practices

Skills & Experience Required

Essential

  • Part‐qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA) or equivalent
  • Management Accounting experience, ideally with exposure to IT or project‐based cost reporting
  • 4+ years’ experience in FP&A or similar analytical finance roles
  • Advanced Excel capability
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships

Desirable

  • Fully qualified accountant
  • Experience building reports or dashboards in Power BI
