What is the role about?

The Security & Incident Management Executive, reporting to the Deputy Head of IT & Security, support with all aspects of IT and security across the contract, comprising physical & information security, including:

  • Act as a Security & Incident Management Executive (SIME) supporting the day-to-day SIM Team operations including Helpdesk duties, fraud packs and supporting the audit and visit schedule.
  • Act as helpdesk support to frontline test centre staff to resolve and monitor security & operational incidents.
  • Assisting with administrating the fraud management process, assisting with managing fraud trackers, and reporting, remedial training and actions.
  • Creating fraud incident packs & work with frontline staff to gather evidence to support fraud pack assembly, processing and delivery to the DVSA.
  • Working with existing SIMEs to complete security audits at sites on a quarterly basis, tracking security risks through from detection to resolution
  • Liaise with key stakeholders. E.g., DVSA, around incident resolution and providing strong customer service to meet KPI’s.
  • Support with review of our security and incident management policies and procedures.

SIM Team – Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide security guidance, advice, and management across the Reed Assessment DVSA TCN and its Co-Members
  • Operate a dedicated Helpdesk for security-related support
  • Monitor and analyse incidents via the DVSA IMP system daily
  • Support post-incident investigations and prepare Fraud Evidence Packs
  • Deliver and manage a quarterly security audit cycle, including risk assessments and mitigation strategies
  • Ensure security assurance through audits, investigations, training, and threat updates
  • Maintain a security risk management framework using IMP and audit data
  • Issue regular and remedial security threat bulletins
  • Collaborate with the SSA team to meet SLA targets for fraud investigations

Essential Attainments:

  • Very strong verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with people and teach/instruct
  • Experience of providing a high-quality advisory and guidance service to internal customers.
  • Good experience and knowledge of the full Microsoft Office package (Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, etc).
  • UK Driving Licence

Desirable Attainments:

  • Experience in similar role
  • Previous physical security experience
  • DVSA Contract experience in a TL or STCA role
  • Good and firm understanding of the full security processes, with a good understanding overall of Fraud, counter-Fraud and the PoI Process (Reed Assessment Process)

  • Ability to quickly understand contractual requirements and support a control framework.
  • An ability to gather, analyse and evaluate facts and to prepare and present concise verbal and written reports.
  • Experience of working in a collaborative manner with operational teams, whilst maintaining independence, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, including supporting the production and delivery of high-quality presentation to internal and external customers.
  • Exemplary organisational and time management skills, including the ability to work to deadlines.
  • Demonstrates a high level of business and commercial awareness.
  • A proactive and flexible, ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Willingness to work away from home base, as required (this will mean staying overnight)

Desirable Criteria:

  • Some knowledge of access control systems, site security systems and CCTV
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments, risk management, planning and auditing.
