Join a high-performing team within the Children & Young People's Directorate, where data and intelligence are central to shaping strategic decision-making, service delivery, and organisational priorities. As a Senior Intelligence Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in transforming complex data into actionable insight, influencing policy, strategy, and operational improvement across Children's Services.

Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will act as a trusted advisor, ensuring that intelligence and evidence underpin key decisions and drive better outcomes for children and families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the analysis and interpretation of complex datasets, providing high-quality insight to inform strategic decision-making, identify emerging trends, and highlight areas of risk and opportunity across Children's Services.
  • Design and deliver advanced reporting outputs, including dashboards, forecasts, briefings, and presentations, tailored to a wide range of stakeholders, from operational teams to senior leadership.
  • Champion data-driven decision-making, developing tools, frameworks, and guidance that embed evidence-based practice across the organisation.
  • Oversee the effective use of Business Intelligence systems, ensuring data is accurately captured, validated, analysed, and presented to a high standard, supporting key performance and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, acting as a key point of expertise and providing strategic advice on data, intelligence, and insight to both internal teams and external partners.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory data returns and regulatory requirements, providing robust, audit-ready evidence to support inspections, peer reviews, and external scrutiny.
  • Support continuous service improvement, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance data quality, reporting processes, and analytical capabilities across the Directorate.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in data analysis, with the ability to interpret and derive meaningful insights from children's or adult social care datasets to support decision-making and service improvement.
  • Practical experience with social care case management systems, ideally Mosaic; experience with Liquidlogic (LCS/EHM) or CareFirst will also be considered.
  • Advanced analytical and technical skills, including proficiency in SQL and Excel, alongside experience using data visualisation tools (eg Power BI, Tableau) and/or GIS systems to present complex data clearly.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with a demonstrable ability to build effective working relationships across all organisational levels and communicate insights through a variety of formats (reports, dashboards, briefings, presentations).
  • Sound knowledge of statutory reporting requirements and data collections, with an understanding of key policy areas impacting Children's Services and wider local government.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, concise, and actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
