- Hybrid with 1-2 days per week in Ashton-under-Lyne
- 18 months fixed term contract
- £34,434 - £39,152 per annum
We are seeking a Web Developer to support our programme by providing technical expertise in unlocking the capabilities available through various technology platforms. This role is crucial for the transformation of services and improving user experience.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Develop and maintain web-based applications and bespoke system integrations.
- Design, develop, configure, test, and deliver automation processes and applications.
- Support innovation and new ways of working with partners.
- Provide technical input and advice relating to development and digital programmes.
- Offer software development support to stakeholders and provide technical application and system interface advice to all relevant stakeholders, including senior managers.
- Deliver digital services and solutions with a holistic approach to software and service design, delivery, and evaluation.
- Analyse user requirements and translate them into viable working solutions.
- Proactively monitor developed systems and address problems.
- Maintain comprehensive support information and documentation for ongoing support of developed products.
- Create and maintain a code base, perform code reviews, and apply best practice coding methods.
- Use application management software and tools to investigate issues, collect performance statistics, and create reports.
- Embed cybersecurity best practices into every line of code and conduct rigorous code reviews, analysis, and vulnerability testing.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Computer Sciences degree or equivalent specialist professional qualification in software/web development.
- At least 3 years of industry experience in developing web-based applications within a professional environment.
- Experience in designing and developing enterprise-level databases and managing software development life cycle.
- Proven success in system integration using APIs, automation, and similar processes.
- Proficiency in object-orientated languages (eg, ASP.NET MVC, C#, Java) and client-side development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Knowledge of automation concepts, including robotic process automation (RPA) and low code solutions
- Understanding of agile software development methodology and GDS Principles.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to design, code, test, and document programs or scripts of high complexity.
