Senior Network EngineerLewes, East SussexFull-Time | Permanent£42,000 - £46,000 per annum37 hours per week (Monday-Friday)The OpportunityWe are looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join a well-established and dynamic internal IT team based in Lewes. Reporting to the Network Team Leader , you will play a key role in supporting and evolving a large-scale enterprise network estate.This is a hands-on role, offering the opportunity to work across WAN, LAN, WLAN, and network security , while contributing to both operational support and project-based network improvements.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain and support WAN, LAN, and Wireless LAN connectivity across multiple locationsDeploy, configure, and support edge routers and security firewallsContribute to the design and implementation of network solutionsMonitor network health, performance, and overall environment stabilityPerform fault finding, troubleshooting, and root cause analysisSupport development of network standards, configurations, and best practicesAssist with hardware lifecycle planning and replacement strategiesProduce and maintain clear technical documentation and proceduresWork closely with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholdersProvide on-site support and installations when requiredEnsure adherence to organisational policies and security standardsSkills & Experience RequiredCCNA (or equivalent certification) - essentialCCNP - highly desirableProven experience supporting enterprise-scale network environmentsStrong background with: Firewalls & VPNs (Cisco ASA, Checkpoint)Routing protocols & network design principlesWAN technologies and monitoringCampus LAN and Wi-Fi networksQoS in WAN/LAN environmentsExperience with SD-WAN (Arista preferred)Knowledge of Cisco wireless networks (Juniper exposure beneficial)Excellent network troubleshooting and diagnostic skillsExperience using tools for traffic analysis, performance monitoring, and capacity planningPersonal AttributesStrong problem-solving mindset with attention to detailAbility to work independently and take initiativeComfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative team environmentQuick learner with the ability to apply new knowledge effectivelyExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skillsWhy Apply Join a forward-thinking organisation with a modernising network environmentBe part of a skilled and collaborative network teamOpportunities to work with emerging technologies including SD-WAN and next-gen wirelessCompetitive salary and stable, long-term career opportunityGreat benefits includedTPBN1_UKTJ
