What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you’ll be responsible for delivering technical support and engineering tasks across a busy Windows environment, including:
- Reviewing Windows-related service requests and providing fast, accurate responses
- Using automation to build images, documentation, work instructions and server configurations
- Building and configuring Windows Servers (predominantly virtualised on VMware)
- Physical server builds and racking within secure data centre / computer room environments
- Updating and maintaining gold images, patching and upgrading Windows Servers
- Producing capacity management reports and attending engineering meetings
- Ensuring all builds align with internal and customer standards
- Visiting customer or company sites when required to support installations or documentation reviews
- Highlighting risks or issues early to protect timelines, costs and solution quality
- Supporting testing activities
- Investigating, assessing and resolving incidents within agreed SLAs
- Adhering to Change, Release, Configuration and Security policies
- Maintaining network security in line with security operating procedures
You may also have opportunities to support additional projects from time to time.
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for someone with experience across:
- Windows Server
- Active Directory, DNS, WSUS
- VMware
- Backup technologies (NetApp SAN, Cohesity desirable)
- Microsoft System Centre Operations
- Scripting experience
You must already hold SC clearance or be eligible to obtain it.
Hours & Working Pattern
- Monday to Friday between 07:00–19:00
- 37 hours per week
- Shift examples: 07:00–15:30 or 10:30–19:00
- No weekend working (overtime may be available, including occasional weekends)
