AWS Developer - Contract - Outside IR35

Reed Technology is working with a public sector organisation to recruit an experienced AWS Developer.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute as a key team member to the delivery of new cloud-native digital services, replacing legacy platforms
• Enhance and support existing services through new features, bug fixes, and technical improvements
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand context and deliver value-focused outcomes
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across development and production environments

Requirements

• Proven experience developing solutions on AWS
• Strong experience with serverless architectures, AWS CDK, S3, API Gateway and CloudFormation
• Solid development experience with TypeScript / JavaScript
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments (Scrum and/or Kanban)
• Familiarity with cloud monitoring, logging, and operational tooling
• Strong collaboration and communication skills

Nice to have:

• Experience with Cypress or similar testing tools
• Use of UI pattern libraries to deliver consistent, high-quality interfaces
• Human-centred and inclusive design practices

Benefits:

• 6-month contract, Outside IR35
• £425–£450 per day (could be slightly higher for an exceptional match)
• Hybrid working – Edinburgh or Glasgow
