This role is crucial for driving new business across the UK market and managing client relationships from initial contact through onboarding and growth. Day-to-day of the role:
New Business Sales:
- Prospect and qualify new clients using outbound calls, emails, LinkedIn, and events.
- Conduct discovery calls to understand prospect operations and pain points.
- Deliver tailored demos of our logistics platform, highlighting its benefits.
- Manage a structured sales pipeline in the CRM, preparing proposals and negotiating terms.
- Close new deals, meeting monthly and quarterly targets, and ensure smooth handover to the implementation team.
Account Management and Retention:
- Serve as the primary contact for a portfolio of accounts, handling day-to-day queries and commercial discussions.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor on driver onboarding and compliance.
- Conduct regular reviews to track client adoption, performance, and satisfaction.
- Monitor key metrics to identify risks early and prevent churn.
- Coordinate with internal teams to resolve issues and maintain high service levels.
Upsell, Cross-sell, and Expansion:
- Identify opportunities to add value through additional modules and services.
- Develop and present business cases for upgrades and expansions.
- Track and report on revenue from upsells and expansions.
Onboarding Collaboration:
- Collaborate with the onboarding team to ensure expectations and timelines are aligned.
- Participate in kickoff calls with new clients to establish clear objectives and roles.
Reporting, Process, and Feedback:
- Maintain accurate records in the CRM and provide regular reports on sales activities.
- Capture client feedback to help refine our platform and services.
- Contribute to sales collateral and participate in trade shows and logistics exhibitions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in B2B sales, account management, or customer success, ideally within SaaS, logistics, or workforce management.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales and retention targets.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to construct simple ROI narratives.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, adept at running remote demos and on-site meetings.
- Highly organised, capable of managing multiple accounts and deadlines.
- Proficient with CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Pipedrive, Salesforce) and basic reporting dashboards.
- Experience with SME owner-operators and operations managers in fast-paced environments is highly desirable.
