Rochdale Council are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Administrator to join their busy team. This role is ideal for individuals experienced in supporting a team that delivers a diverse range of licensing regulatory functions. The position requires delivering excellent customer service in a target-driven environment where accuracy and the handling of complex information are crucial.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Implement the council's approved policies and statutory duties related to all aspects of Public Protection as required.
- Offer guidance, receive, and scrutinise applications for all licenses and registrations within the scope of the Public Protection Section.
- Manage interactions with the public and other customers at the reception desk and by telephone, including liaising with other services, service providers, and external agencies such as the Police and Fire Service.
- Handle the receipt and preparation for banking of all fees and other miscellaneous income, in line with Service and Council procedures.
- Process and record requests for the Section's services, maintain service registers, and assist in the collection and processing of management information and other data.
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence and documentation, carry out data inputting, and assist in maintaining the Section's files and filing systems, both manual and computerised.
- Contribute to the use and development of IT systems relevant to the role.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a similar administrative or support role within a regulatory or public protection environment.
- Excellent communication and numeracy skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and deliver high-quality customer service in a target-driven setting.
- Competence in handling complex information with accuracy.
- Proficiency in using IT systems and standard office software.
