Application Security Analyst This role offers a fantastic opportunity to enhance the security and integrity of applications across both cloud and on-premises environments. You will be at the forefront of innovation, working closely with engineering and product teams to embed secure development practices, assess vulnerabilities, and strengthen our application security posture.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Manage and optimise SCA (Software Composition Analysis), SAST (Static Application Security Testing), and DAST (Dynamic Application Security Testing) tooling to ensure effective scanning and remediation.
- Support engineering teams with triage, vulnerability management, and secure coding best practices.
- Ensure adherence to the Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC).
- Support risk assessments and contribute to risk management processes.
- Conduct regular security assessments and report findings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Operations, Product) to meet security requirements.
- Maintain and develop security documentation and standards
- Stay current with emerging threats, technologies, and regulations.
- Contribute to the Security Champions programme through advice and training.
- Develop reports to track security progress and highlight gaps.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of web application security (OWASP Top 10) and experience with SCA, SAST, and DAST tools.
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline (STEM preferred) or demonstrable experience.
- Experience in software development, QA, or software testing.
- Strong understanding of security protocols, cryptography, and authentication.
- Proficiency in programming or scripting (.NET C#, Python, Java, JS frameworks).
- Experience with open-source and enterprise security tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- A broad interest across the security domain.
