About the Opportunity
Our client is a well-established UK-based technology company that develops cloud-based software solutions. Their platform supports fleet operators across the UK, helping them remain compliant, safe and efficient through tools covering driver data, fleet maintenance, and vehicle tracking.
With a collaborative team environment and a strong focus on internal development, our client builds and supports their platform in-house using Microsoft technologies, including Azure and Microsoft 365.
The Role
We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an Apprentice IT Support Technician to join their growing technical team. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone looking to kickstart a career in IT.
You’ll gain hands-on experience supporting internal users, maintaining IT systems, and ensuring the smooth operation of business-critical platforms, all while working towards a recognised Level 3 IT qualification.
No prior commercial experience is required — our client is looking for someone with the right attitude, enthusiasm for technology and willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily operational monitoring and system checks to ensure platform reliability
- Provide first-line IT support to internal users via phone, E-Mail and in person
- Troubleshoot common hardware, software and basic network issues
- Set up and maintain IT equipment including laptops, desktops, printers and Mobile devices
- Log, update and resolve support tickets, documenting solutions clearly
- Assist with user account management (e.g. password resets, onboarding and offboarding)
- Adhere to IT security policies and best practice
Training & Development
You will complete a Level 3 IT apprenticeship with a recognised technology training provider, with dedicated study time built into your working week.
You’ll receive ongoing mentoring and support from experienced professionals within the business, providing a strong foundation for a long-term career in IT.
Candidate Requirements
We are looking for individuals who demonstrate:
- A positive, proactive attitude and eagerness to learn
- Reliability, punctuality and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach
- Good organisation and problem-solving ability
Desirable (but not essential):
- A genuine interest in IT or technology
- Basic knowledge of Windows and Microsoft 365
Essential Requirements
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Right to work in the UK
- Commitment to completing the apprenticeship programme
- The scheme cannot except a current/previous Computer Science degree (university graduates with a degree outside of this are welcome)
