Our client is seeking an Automation Tester to join their dynamic team. This role involves writing, executing, and maintaining both functional and non-functional automated UI and API tests/suites. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, maintaining, and documenting robust, scalable, and reusable solutions that deliver an exceptional user experience, aligned with DevOps best practices.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Write, execute, and maintain automated UI and API tests/suites aligned against acceptance criteria to support our continuous deployment environment.
- Design, code, test, maintain, and document solutions that enhance user experience using DevOps best practices.
- Proactively investigate problems and opportunities in existing processes, evaluate findings, and communicate recommendations to stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with software developers to understand the code base and ensure adequate test coverage at the unit level.
- Work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver user-focused and successful digital services, ensuring adherence to governance standards.
- Identify defects, incidents, risks, and issues in accordance with IPO standards.
- Explore innovative ways to solve problems, adopting a fail-fast approach to deliver required functionality.
- Mentor colleagues in automation/test standards and business processes following agreed governance and best practices.
- Assist in implementing toolkits and APIs for integration, performance optimisation, security, and scalability.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in delivering technical solutions.
- Familiarity with modern delivery models such as Scrum and Agile.
- Understanding of DevOps principles.
- Strong knowledge of mainstream testing frameworks/libraries such as Selenium WebDriver, BDD SpecFlow, and RestSharp.
- Experience in a mainstream development language.
- Proficiency in Web Services, REST.
