Business Analyst GIS

A GIS Business Analyst is required for our client based in Manchester for an initial 3 month contract. This is a hybrid position with approx. 1 day per week on site (essential for the first few weeks, and then potentially some flexibility for candidates based further afield.

Our client requires a functionally rich desktop application to assist its geospatial work. The current contract that supplies the corporate Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software expires next year. Therefore, a technical review of GIS is required across the estate with a view to standardising technology. The current GIS is used by Performance Research and Intelligence (PRI), the Arcus Global application (Reg Services), the CRM system and the CMS system. This review will confirm the mapping requirements and inform a pre-market engagement activity (Soft Market Testing) and subsequent procurement exercise. This review also needs to take into account the strategic technology roadmap for the organisation to ensure the mapping software can interface, integrate and enhance future technology direction.

The Business Analyst is required to:

• Review the previous GIS requirement specification (procurement exercise completed in 2020) and confirm functional and non-functional business requirements with the Performance, Research and Intelligence Service (PRI), RBDxP, Comms and Arcus Global.
• Map and report on the use of GIS across the organisation – who uses it, how is it used and when it is used. This should include internal and external users and interfaces linked to GIS.
• Report on applications that are dependent on GIS data.
• Additional, tasks/products may be required as a result of the information / reports produced above.

• GIS - Ideally will have worked on a similar project or have some knowledge/understanding of GIS systems
