Business Analyst (HR Systems / Workday HCM Transformation) – 24-Month FTC

The Opportunity

A leading UK-based organisation is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support the implementation and optimisation of a new Workday HCM platform as part of a wider people systems and operational transformation programme.

This role will play a critical part in understanding, documenting, and improving HR processes across a complex, multi-entity environment. Working closely with HR, Finance, Reward, Operations, and technology teams, you will ensure business requirements are clearly defined, validated, and translated into successful system outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with HR, Reward, Finance, and operational stakeholders to gather, document, and validate business requirements.
  • Map end-to-end hire-to-retire and employee lifecycle processes, identifying gaps, risks, and opportunities for standardisation and improvement.
  • Produce high-quality business requirements, user stories, process documentation, and acceptance criteria.
  • Translate HR process requirements into clear specifications for system integration and delivery partners.
  • Support the design and optimisation of organisational structures within a complex, federated business environment.
  • Assess the impact of new HR processes and system functionality on HR teams, managers, and employees.
  • Validate workforce and people data to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with business requirements.
  • Work closely with IT and data teams to ensure integrations support agreed business processes.
  • Support change management activities, including process documentation, training materials, and stakeholder communications.
  • Lead or contribute to User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test planning, scenario creation, execution support, and defect management.

Required Experience

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst on HR systems or people transformation programmes.
  • Strong expertise in requirements gathering, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience mapping end-to-end HR and employee lifecycle processes.
  • Skilled in producing user stories, business requirements, and acceptance criteria.
  • Strong understanding of HR operations, employee lifecycle activities, and associated business processes.
  • Experience supporting HCM system implementations, ideally within large or complex organisations.
  • Experience managing or supporting UAT activities for HR processes.
  • Ability to validate workforce data and assess business impacts.
  • Experience conducting gap analysis and business impact assessments.
  • Experience working within multi-entity, federated, or decentralised organisational structures.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working on Workday HCM implementation or optimisation programmes.
  • Exposure to people systems transformation initiatives.
  • Experience partnering with Finance teams on workforce planning, reporting, organisational structures, or people-related business impacts.
  • Knowledge of HR data governance, integrations, and reporting processes.
