The Opportunity
A well-established professional services organisation is looking to appoint an IT Business Analyst to join its growing technology team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a broad range of technology and business transformation initiatives, working closely with stakeholders across the organisation to identify opportunities for improvement, define requirements, and support the successful delivery of technology solutions.
The business has recently invested in significant technology upgrades and is committed to leveraging these platforms to improve operational efficiency, enhance user experience, and support future growth. The successful candidate will act as the bridge between business stakeholders, technology teams, and third-party partners, ensuring solutions are aligned with business objectives and deliver measurable value.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with stakeholders to understand business objectives, challenges, and opportunities.
- Gather, analyse, and document business and technical requirements.
- Produce high-quality documentation including business cases, process maps, functional specifications, requirements documents, and user stories.
- Translate business needs into clear and actionable technical requirements for development teams and vendors.
- Support solution design activities by validating that proposed solutions meet business requirements.
- Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and discovery sessions.
- Assist with requirements prioritisation and scope management across projects.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring delivered solutions meet agreed business outcomes.
- Act as the key liaison between business users, internal technology teams, and third-party suppliers.
- Contribute to change management and user adoption activities.
- Identify opportunities for process optimisation and continuous improvement across the organisation.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience working as an IT Business Analyst or in a similar business change role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrable experience gathering, analysing, and documenting requirements.
- Ability to translate complex business challenges into practical technology solutions.
- Experience facilitating workshops, interviews, and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to agreed deadlines.
- Experience supporting technology, systems, or digital transformation projects.
Desirable Experience
- Experience with process modelling techniques such as BPMN, workflow mapping, or flow diagrams.
- Data analysis, reporting, and business insights experience.
- Exposure to enterprise applications such as ERP, CRM, document management, or other business-critical systems.
- Understanding of change management and business transformation methodologies.
- Experience working with third-party software vendors and implementation partners.
