Business Analyst
We are partnering with a leading consultancy to deliver a high-profile, innovative software programme for a major government client, and we are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to play a key role in its success.
This is a 6 month contract, outside IR35, you must hold SC or be eligible and be able to work onsite in Newcastle upon Tyne regularly.
As a Business Analyst, you will sit at the heart of a complex, multi-disciplinary delivery team, helping translate business needs into actionable solutions within an agile environment.
You will work closely with stakeholders across government and technical teams to shape requirements, drive clarity, and ensure the successful delivery of modern, user-focused digital services.
Key Responsibilities
- Elicit, analyse, and document business and user requirements
- Facilitate workshops with stakeholders at all levels
- Translate complex requirements into clear user stories and acceptance criteria
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, and Architects within agile squads
- Support backlog management, prioritisation, and sprint planning
- Identify process improvements and contribute to solution design
- Ensure alignment between business objectives and technical delivery
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst
- Experience working on government or public sector projects
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced, evolving delivery environments
- Experience with digital transformation or software delivery programmes
- Previous work on GDS-aligned programmes
- Familiarity with user-centred design principles
- Experience working in multidisciplinary delivery teams
