My client is embarking on a series of major business transformation programmes and is seeking an experienced Business Change Manager to play a key role in delivering the people-focused elements of these initiatives. Joining the Strategic Change & Projects (SCP) team, you will help ensure that new processes, systems, and ways of working are successfully understood, adopted, and embedded across the organisation.

The Role

As Business Change Manager, you will lead the design and delivery of change management activities that support staff through periods of transition. Working to an established business change framework, you will develop clear and practical change, engagement, training, and communication plans, collaborating with project teams and business stakeholders to ensure smooth and effective implementation.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong stakeholder engagement skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess the impact of change on people, processes, and systems, identifying actions to minimise disruption and support adoption.
  • Prepare the organisation for change by defining and implementing readiness and deployment plans.
  • Identify and manage potential resistance to change, balancing delivery needs with business-as-usual priorities.
  • Build strong relationships across teams, generating engagement and advocacy for change.
  • Work closely with project teams to plan the transition of new processes into business-as-usual.
  • Coach and support managers to lead their teams confidently through change.
  • Lead the identification of training needs and coordinate the development and delivery of training materials and sessions.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Experience working within a change management or transformation programme environment.
  • Knowledge and application of recognised change methodologies (e.g., APMG, Prosci).
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Experience developing and delivering business change plans and activities.
  • Ability to work at pace, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable working with autonomy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Evidence of effective engagement with stakeholders at all levels.

Desirable:

  • Prosci qualification.
  • Degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience within Higher Education or similarly regulated environments.
  • Experience designing and delivering training solutions.
  • Familiarity with project methodologies including agile.
