Business Compliance Officer

Our client, a global and fast-growing organisation operating at the heart of the technology and supply chain sector, is seeking a Business Compliance Officer. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the organisation maintains the highest standards of legal, regulatory, and ethical compliance—supporting a culture of integrity while helping the business navigate an increasingly complex regulatory landscape.

This is a permanent position with a salary banding of £45,000 to £55,000 + excellent benefits. The organisation is based in Newbury, Berkshire, the role can be offered on a hybrid or remote basis but some travel to international sites may be required.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Monitoring

  • Stay up to date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
  • Provide guidance to the business on required changes and implications

Policy Development

  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal policies and procedures
  • Ensure alignment with legal and regulatory requirements

Risk Assessment & Auditing

  • Identify areas of compliance risk and potential vulnerability
  • Conduct audits and reviews to ensure policies are adhered to

Training & Education

  • Deliver compliance training and awareness programmes
  • Promote understanding of ethics, policies, and regulatory expectations

Investigation & Reporting

  • Investigate potential breaches, irregularities, or concerns
  • Manage whistleblowing processes and escalation channels
  • Report findings to senior leadership and, where necessary, regulatory bodies

About You

  • Experience in compliance, risk, audit, or governance roles
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance best practice
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and assess risk
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment
