We are seeking a dedicated Computer Science Teacher to join our team for a temporary position starting in January. This role involves teaching Key Stage 3 (KS3) Computer Science. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, teaching, and marking, as well as managing data and participating in two parents' evenings. Additionally, there will be opportunities for professional development through fortnightly CPD sessions.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Plan, teach, and mark KS3 Computer Science lessons.
- Manage student data and track progress to ensure educational goals are met.
- Participate in two scheduled parents' evenings to discuss student progress and concerns.
- Engage in fortnightly CPD sessions as part of directed time to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
- Provide general cover for other classes as needed, with a timetable that includes 30 hours over two weeks, plus additional PPA time, leaving 12 periods for general cover.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Computer Science or a related field.
- Proven experience in teaching Computer Science at KS3 level.
- Strong organisational skills to manage teaching responsibilities and additional duties effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to adapt and cover a variety of subjects as needed beyond Computer Science.
