Reed FE are working with a College in Corby and are seeking a dedicated Computing Lecturer to join the team. This role involves preparing and delivering sessions on the L3 T Level in Digital Software Development, assessing student work, and contributing to curriculum development. The ideal candidate will be passionate about digital software development and committed to providing a high-quality learning experience.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Prepare, deliver, assess, and verify subject specialisms on a range of courses and levels.
  • Support and guide students to achieve success and realise their potential.
  • Manage students’ learning and ensure a high-quality learning experience.
  • Contribute proactively to curriculum development and innovative teaching.
  • Participate in marketing and promotion activities to support various programmes.
  • Maintain up-to-date schemes of work that meet the requirements of awarding bodies.
  • Develop and implement new learning materials in various media to engage students.
  • Monitor and record students’ progress, ensuring they meet required standards and deadlines.
  • Prepare reports and maintain records on students’ progress and performance.
  • Extend students’ learning experience through vocational opportunities, such as links with employers and work experience.
  • Keep up to date with developments in your subject specialism and share expertise with colleagues.
  • Ensure that learning environments are inclusive, interesting, and meet health and safety requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in teaching digital software development or a related field.
  • Ability to prepare and deliver engaging and effective lessons.
  • Strong understanding of the requirements of awarding bodies.
  • Recognised Teaching Qualification 
  • Commitment to professional development and quality improvement.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
