We are seeking a highly driven and experienced Data Architect to join a collaborative and forward-thinking Data team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be a key driver in business and technology evolution, where your contributions to high-level design, value creation, efficiency gains, and innovative solutions will be highly valued. As a Data Architect, you will be empowered to design and implement data strategies and roadmaps and build out next-generation data platforms.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Develop and articulate the Data Strategy by defining the overall vision, principles, and roadmap for how data will be managed, structured, governed, and utilised to achieve business objectives.
  • Define Data Architecture Principles and Standards by establishing clear guidelines, standards, and best practices for data modelling, data integration, data security, data quality, and metadata management.
  • Provide architectural guidance and leadership, staying abreast of emerging technologies.
  • Design Data Models, creating and maintaining conceptual, logical, and physical data models that are scalable, performant, and meet business requirements.
  • Design real-time Data Integration and ETL/ELT Processes, Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence Architectures, and Data Products.
  • Establish and enforce Data Standards, ensuring data architecture supports and enables strategic goals and initiatives.
  • Communicate Data Architecture concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, working closely with business users, analysts, data scientists, and IT teams to understand their needs and translate them into architectural solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Data Architect or similar role, with strong architectural experience.
  • Deep understanding of business processes and the ability to translate business needs into designs and reusable deliverables.
  • Hands-on experience with GCP services relevant to data management, processing, and analytics.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, service models, and deployment models.
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting languages.
  • Experience in building data visualisation using tools such as Qlik, Looker, Power BI.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with data governance and data quality management.
  • Good understanding of data privacy and security regulations (e.g., GDPR).
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
