Data Protection Officer

• Salary: £17 to £19 per hour

We are seeking a Data Protection Officer to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is crucial for ensuring our compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018 across various departments. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting compliance reviews, managing information assets, and providing essential data protection guidance within the organisation.

• Independently conduct data protection compliance reviews in collaboration with managers across various specialisms.
• Manage a variety of information assets to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Work closely with managers to produce and review fair processing notices and privacy notices.
• Resolve queries and provide advice and guidance to internal managers and colleagues on data protection issues.
• Maintain and develop an information asset register system.
• Perform any other administrative duties as required by the role.

• Strong working knowledge of the Data Protection Act 2018, with the ability to interpret and apply its principles across a range of scenarios.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to confidently present and advise managers.
• Good organisational skills, with the ability to plan and prioritise work effectively, even when faced with conflicting priorities.
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative, while also committing to team collaboration.
• Proven ability to build strong, open, and transparent relationships based on trust.
• Positive and constructive response to challenges.
