Are you a technically minded networking professional looking to work with complex communications, IT infrastructure and customer network solutions?
We're looking for a Datacoms Technician to join a highly skilled engineering team supporting a wide range of customer environments, from remote and mobile communications networks to sophisticated IT and connectivity solutions. This role offers the opportunity to work across network design, implementation, troubleshooting and support, whilst gaining exposure to cutting-edge communications technologies.
Important Security Requirement
This role requires Security Clearance (SC) eligibility. Applicants who do not currently hold SC Clearance, or who are not eligible to obtain SC Clearance, cannot be considered for this position.
The Role
As a Datacoms Technician, you'll provide technical expertise across a broad range of networking and communications technologies, supporting both internal projects and customer solutions. You'll be involved in everything from troubleshooting complex network issues through to supporting new installations, testing and commissioning activities.

What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting the design, implementation and maintenance of customer network solutions
- Investigating, owning and resolving complex technical and network-related issues
- Assisting with the build, testing, commissioning and deployment of IT and communications systems
- Supporting customer projects both onsite and remotely as part of the wider engineering team
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation and project records
- Evaluating new products, applications and services to support future customer requirements
- Supporting network installations, surveys and configurations at customer sites when required
- Keeping up to date with developments across networking, communications and IT technologies
What We're Looking For
We're interested in speaking with candidates who have:
- A degree, HND or HNC in IT, Computer Science, Electronics or a related technical discipline
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts, including routing, switching and firewall technologies
- Experience diagnosing and resolving complex technical faults
- Experience working with modern IT infrastructure, communications or networking systems
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with customers professionally
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a genuine passion for technology
- The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a project team
Desirable Experience
The following would be highly advantageous:
- Cisco or Microsoft certifications
- Project delivery or implementation experience
- Linux and Windows Server administration experience
- VoIP or Asterisk platform experience
- Scripting knowledge such as Bash or Perl
- Hardware or software systems development experience
- Experience within communications, satellite, telecoms, defence or managed service environments
