Digital ICT Project Manager Public Sector

We are seeking an experienced Public Sector Digital ICT Project Manager to lead Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and Digital projects in support of our clients Digital Strategy. This role involves overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of various projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and regulatory standards.

Day-to-Day of the Role:

  • Lead project teams comprising both technical and non-technical members to achieve project outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Engage in technical discussions with ICT suppliers to find solutions and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Provide professional project management to assist directorates with the delivery of applications, systems, and technology solutions.
  • Follow and implement Council methodologies based on industry best practices.
  • Manage dependencies and interfaces between projects to align with strategic objectives.
  • Define programme governance arrangements and ensure effective quality assurance of ICT projects.
  • Present regular progress updates to governance boards and contribute strategically to the direction and management of the Portfolio.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven track record in leading and managing ICT projects within expected time, cost, and quality constraints.
  • Advanced knowledge of existing and emerging technology and its application within projects.
  • Strong understanding of information management and governance approaches.
  • Experience in managing ICT suppliers and communicating in technical terms.
  • Experience in risk, assumption, issue, and dependency management within an ICT project environment.
  • Knowledge of public sector contractual and procurement procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of promoting understanding to a variety of audiences.
  • Educated to at least degree level or holding a relevant professional qualification in an ICT discipline.
