A leading manufacturer within the food production sector is seeking a skilled Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join its established engineering team at a busy production facility in Corby. The Role

As a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring production equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably. You will be responsible for both planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance activities while supporting ongoing improvement projects across the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on production equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults.
  • Fault-find on PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and related control systems.
  • Complete maintenance records accurately using the CMMS system.
  • Support production teams to maximise plant availability and efficiency.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with health, safety, and food safety standards.
  • Review contractor risk assessments and support permit-to-work activities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Apprentice-trained Multiskilled Engineer with either an electrical or mechanical bias.
  • NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds Level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Experience within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
  • Knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance techniques.
  • Experience with PLC, HMI, DCS or SCADA fault finding.
  • Familiarity with instrumentation and calibration activities.
  • Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.

Desirable

  • HNC or HND qualification.
  • 17th/18th Edition Electrical qualification.
  • IOSH or NEBOSH certification.
  • Experience managing contractors.
  • CompEx certification.
  • CHP or Effluent Treatment Plant experience.

Shift Pattern

  • Rotating shifts:

    • 6:00am - 2:00pm
    • 8:00am - 4:00pm
    • 2:00pm - 10:00pm
    • 10:00pm - 6:00am (Sunday to Thursday nights)
  • On-call rota:

    • One weekend in four
    • Friday 10:00pm to Sunday 10:00pm
