Engineering Technician – £16.93 p/h – 2 Month Temp Contract – Start September

Location: Oxford Hours: 37.5 per week Contract: Temporary 

A leading biotech company is looking for a hands-on Engineering Technician to support their R&D and workshop teams. This company develops innovative insect-control solutions used in both agriculture and public health.

This is a great opportunity for someone practical who enjoys building, experimenting, and working with a variety of tools and materials.

The Role

• Hands-on mechanical assembly and build work
• Working with metals, plastics, and 3D-printed components
• Using workshop tools (including drills, laser cutter, basic power tools)
• Setting up and operating a 3D printer (training provided)
• Supporting prototype builds and trial-and-error testing
• Reading and following engineering drawings
• Working safely in a mixed workshop and occasional lab environment

About You

• Practical, hands-on, and confident with tools
• Able to follow instructions and drawings accurately
• Comfortable asking questions when unsure
• Computer-literate (especially for 3D printer software)
• No degree required – vocational or workshop experience ideal
• Someone who works safely and pays attention to detail
