Enterprise Architect

  • Contract Duration: 6 months
  • Location: Hybrid (3 days a week in the office)

Reed Professional Services is looking for an Enterprise Architect to lead a business-critical transformation programme aimed at replacing a highly customised, 20-year-old rights and contributor management platform. This role is pivotal in defining and delivering a modern target-state architecture for a global content and financial ecosystem.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead Enterprise Architecture for a Strategic Transformation Programme: Define the target-state architecture, establish architecture principles, standards, and governance frameworks, and act as the senior architectural authority.
  • Understand and Deconstruct the Existing Landscape: Analyse the complex legacy application ecosystem, document existing integrations, data flows, and system dependencies, and work with technical SMEs to reverse-engineer undocumented functionality.
  • Design a Modern Integration Architecture: Develop an API-first and event-driven integration strategy, design scalable and resilient integration patterns, and define standards for secure, reusable, and governed enterprise integrations.
  • Create a Safe and Practical Migration Strategy: Develop a phased transition roadmap, identify opportunities for incremental delivery, and define approaches for coexistence between legacy and modern platforms.
  • Establish Data and Technology Governance: Define clear data ownership boundaries, support master data management, and ensure architectural alignment with security, risk, and compliance requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Essential Experience: Significant Enterprise Architecture experience within complex enterprise environments, a proven track record in delivering large-scale legacy modernisation programmes, and strong stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Technical Expertise: Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture frameworks, API-led architecture, event-driven architecture, microservices, cloud-native architecture principles (AWS preferred), and modern API platforms.
  • Desirable Experience: Background in media and publishing environments, rights management platforms, and financial systems integration programmes.
