Fibre Engineer – Rural Fibre Networks (Caithness area)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a growing fibre broadband provider as the team expands to support the rollout of high-quality connectivity across rural communities. We are seeking friendly, customer-focused individuals to join our installation teams in the Caithness area. Full training can be provided for the right candidates.

About the Role

Installation engineers work on the frontline of the service, delivering fibre network connections directly to customers’ properties. Reporting to a Fibre Team Leader, you will work to a scheduled appointment diary and play a key part in the rapid deployment of ultra-fast fibre networks across rural towns and villages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out excavation works within customers’ gardens
  • Provide customers with guidance on using their new service
  • Install Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) by pulling or blowing cables through underground networks from cabinets or chambers to customer properties
  • Liaise with customers to agree routing through gardens or properties before work begins
  • Work on overhead networks when required
  • Complete internal cabling and install customer equipment (CPE)
  • Conduct full equipment testing to ensure services are operational
  • Encourage positive customer experience and feedback

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Confidence working at height and experience with manual labour
  • A full driving licence
  • Willingness to undergo a disclosure check, as the role involves working in customers’ homes
