Financial Accountant

The Role

We’re working with a global technology business that’s transforming how major retailers, banks and hospitality providers operate through automation and innovation.

They’re now looking for a Financial Accountant to join their head office finance team in a role that blends technical accounting, stock ownership, and genuine business partnering.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, international environment and wants to take real ownership of inventory accounting, reporting and financial insight.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy while driving insight across a stock-led business:

  • Own stock accounting processes, including stock counting, valuation and provisioning
  • Lead stock reconciliations and variance analysis, working closely with operational teams to investigate discrepancies
  • Deliver clear, actionable variance reporting, supporting decision-making across finance and the wider business
  • Analyse slow-moving and obsolete stock, making recommendations to improve financial performance
  • Take responsibility for month-end close activities, including journals and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Partner with teams across Supply Chain and Operations to improve processes and controls
  • Present insights and lead monthly review discussions with senior stakeholders

Alongside this, you’ll also:

  • Oversee a small international Accounts Payable function
  • Manage intercompany reconciliations and ensure reporting deadlines are met
  • Track and improve KPIs across the finance function
  • Support audits and statutory reporting

What We’re Looking For

We’re keen to speak with qualified accountants who bring a mix of technical ability and commercial awareness:

  • Fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Strong experience in financial accounting within a stock-driven environment (e.g. manufacturing, retail, logistics)
  • Hands-on experience with stock accounting, stock counts, provisioning and variance analysis
  • Comfortable working to deadlines in a fast-paced, multinational business
  • Strong communicator, able to work with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
  • Experience with ERP systems (JD Edwards would be a bonus)

Why Apply?

  • Join a global, market-leading organisation with a strong reputation for innovation
  • Work in a business where finance is a true partner to operations
  • Gain exposure to international teams and processes
  • Clear opportunities for development and progression
  • Collaborative culture with a real focus on people and wellbeing

Benefits

  • 25 days’ holiday + bank holidays (with option to buy more)
  • Annual bonus scheme
  • Competitive pension
  • Private medical & dental cover
  • Life assurance & income protection
  • Ongoing training and development
  • Wellbeing support & employee benefits platform
