Front Web Developer
Junior-Mid Web Developer (.NET WebForms)

Our client is seeking an experienced Web Developer to join our in-house development team dedicated to advancing our established and commercially successful SaaS platform. This role is based in their Royal Wootton Bassett office and requires commuting for a minimum of three days each week. As a Web Developer, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our platform, driving innovation, and maintaining our competitive edge in the commercial transport market.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Maintain and enhance the .NET Framework WebForms UI.
- Drive a gradual UI migration: replace targeted WebForms pages/controls with ASP.NET MVC views and React components.
- Build and refine React features: components, hooks, routing, forms, error boundaries, and user flows.
- Consume ASP.NET Core APIs from the front-end: data fetching, caching, optimistic updates, and resilient error handling.
- Create and maintain a reusable component library/design system; manage CSS architecture (e.g., SCSS modules or utility CSS), responsiveness, and theming.
- Ensure accessibility (WCAG-aligned), semantic HTML, and keyboard navigation.
- Optimize front-end performance: code splitting, lazy loading, asset/image optimization, CSS.
- Handle client-side auth flows (e.g., OIDC via library), protected routes, and session state in the UI.
- Write and maintain front-end tests.
- Own front-end tooling.
- Collaborate with back-end developers on API contracts and with designers/PMs on UX acceptance criteria.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Extensive experience with UI on .NET stacks, including maintaining ASP.NET WebForms UIs and authoring ASP.NET MVC/Razor views.
- Proficiency in React (TypeScript preferred): Components, hooks, routing, state, forms, error boundaries.
- Deep knowledge of Web fundamentals: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, browser APIs, and cross-browser compatibility.
- Practical experience in accessibility and performance optimizations.
- Skilled in API consumption, testing, and front-end tooling.
- Excellent collaboration skills to shape UI requirements and align on API contracts.
- Desirable: Exposure to Blazor, design systems like Storybook, SEO & analytics, internationalization, and experience with AI coding assistants.
