Information Governance & Assurance Lead

• Hourly Rate: £26.05 – £28.25
• Location: Bolton

We are seeking an Information Governance & Assurance Lead to spearhead the delivery of information governance and assurance across our organisation. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and best practice standards, providing expert guidance across a complex and diverse data landscape.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Lead and oversee information assurance and governance activities across the organisation.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including information rights, data protection, and records management requirements.
• Develop and implement best practice standards for information governance and data management.
• Provide expert advice on information assurance, data standards, and records management.
• Apply governance frameworks effectively within a complex organisational environment with varied data sets.
• Produce and present performance reports relating to information governance and compliance.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies relating to data handling and information management.
• Support continuous improvement of information management processes, policies, and systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Demonstrable knowledge of information assurance, information rights legislation, records management, and data standards and governance frameworks.
• Proven experience of applying governance principles in a complex organisation.
• Experience producing performance reports and analysing governance metrics.
• Strong leadership experience, including managing and developing teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
