Reed Education is recruiting for an enthusiastic and resilient ICT / Computer Science Teacher to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Halifax.

The Role

You will be responsible for planning and delivering ICT and Computer Science lessons to students with a range of social, emotional, and mental health needs. Working as part of a dedicated and supportive team, you will create a positive learning environment where pupils feel safe, valued, and motivated to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver creative and engaging ICT and Computer Science lessons.
• Differentiate learning to meet individual student needs.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
• Support pupils to develop both academic and practical digital skills.
• Monitor progress and provide regular feedback.
• Work collaboratively with support staff, parents, and external professionals.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school community.

What We're Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching ICT and/or Computer Science.
• Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills.
• Understanding of SEMH needs and trauma-informed approaches, or a willingness to develop knowledge in this area.
• A patient, resilient, and compassionate approach.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
