IT Audit Specialist

• Contract Type: Day rate, until end of June
• Location: London (Hybrid - 2 days onsite per week)
• Day Rate: £500 (inside IR35)

Join a leading public sector organisation dedicated to improving public services through rigorous auditing and oversight. We are seeking an experienced IT Audit Specialist to enhance our team. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement with a requirement of 2 days per week in-office, potentially increasing during peak periods.

Day-to-Day of the Role:

• Support the IT Audit Management Team in planning and delivering the IT audit work programme.
• Conduct IT audits across various technology layers, including SAP ECC, Active Directory, and cloud-based systems.
• Ensure the effective operation of IT controls, including functions, interfaces, reports, and segregation of duties.
• Produce high-quality IT audit documentation for manager review.
• Understand and document complex business processes and identify controls to address financial and business process risks.
• Evaluate third-party reports (e.g., ISAE3402) in support of financial audit teams.
• Summarise IT audit findings, impact on business/financial statements, recommend additional audit work, and draft practical recommendations for management.
• Maintain effective relationships with the Financial Audit team and audited entities to ensure smooth delivery and communication.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Significant experience in IT audit, particularly supporting financial audits.
• Experience supervising junior staff and capable of working independently.
• Strong educational background or professional qualifications in IT audit (CISA preferred) or relevant experience.
• Experience with large complex systems, particularly SAP.
• Excellent verbal communication and report writing skills.
• A formal finance qualification is advantageous but not required.
